Stuart Gross, an Eastern Consolidated principal since 2002, is a veteran real estate professional with twenty-nine years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset management. He has achieved international recognition as a top advisor and developer and brings a wealth of real estate experience to Eastern Consolidated. Mr. Gross represents clients in complex sales, acquisitions and financings of investment real estate, particularly negotiations of equity, debt and tax sensitive structures.
Before joining Eastern, Mr. Gross acquired and redeveloped real estate in the emerging markets of Central Europe through the investment firm he formed in 1998, Urban Development Services (UDS). During his five year tenure in Europe, he acquired and redeveloped over 125,000 square feet of CBD properties and acquired a portfolio of land for development. UDS is currently developing an 800 unit center city residential condominium project in Poland near Berlin, Germany.
In 1997, prior to his formation of UDS, Mr. Gross formed an advisory services firm, Gross International, and consummated the sale of a $630 million portfolio of properties from the Swedish Postal System in September 1997 to Credit Suisse First Boston, the largest real estate transaction in Swedish history at that time. Additionally, he represented the government of Egypt in the privatization of a portfolio of state-owned hotels.
From 1982 to 1996 Mr. Gross was with Arthur Andersen & Co. and was admitted as a Partner in the Real Estate Advisory Services Group in 1989. While at Andersen, Mr. Gross structured real estate transactions and financings for single assets and portfolios throughout the United States and Europe. He was the Engagement Partner for over a billion dollars of real estate and loan portfolio sales on behalf of the RTC and was instrumental in the formation of the now burgeoning CMBS market during the early 1990s.
Mr. Gross is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
Mr. Gross graduated from Duke University with Distinction in Economics, and holds a Masters in Accounting from Georgia State University. In 1978 he became a Certified Public Accountant.
