Sumner Putnam joined Newmark Knight Frank as a senior managing director with its Data Center Consulting Group. Mr. Putnam brings to his position 12 years of experience providing both tenants and landlords with representative consulting, strategic planning, market research, leasing and marketing services as well as negotiated and closed numerous transactions on their behalf. He has been involved in more than 1 million square feet of transactions, both locally and nationally. Prior to NKF, Mr. Putnam worked for nearly nine years at Jones Lang LaSalle, most recently as a vice president in the Data Center Solutions Group. In this role, he specialized in the representation of both tenants and landlords, with a focus on mission-critical data center requirements. Mr. Putnam was promoted to vice president in 2011, after serving as a leasing associate since joining the company in 2007. Previously, Mr. Putnam was the business development manager at AccessIT (AIXD), where he managed sales, marketing and future business growth operations. Mr. Putnam began his career at Merrill Lynch. Some of Sumner's key clients have included Bank of America, Digital Realty Trust, HSBC, Level3, Municipal Credit Union, State Street Bank, TUMI, Unisys and The Weinstein Company.
Mr. Putnam was named one of JLL's Top Achievers in 2011, 2013 and 2014. In 2010, he received the Industrial & Office Real Estate Brokers Association's (IOREBA's) award for Largest Office Agency. An active member of his community, Mr. Putnam is currently a committee member for Music at Moorlands, a concert series supporting Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. Mr. Putnam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and two children.
