Bio
Ms. Susan Nogues has an award winning ‘entrepreneurial spirit’ and is detail-oriented, experienced, reliable, personable, and educated. She has over 30 years of experience as an active licensed real estate professional and is a second-generation Texas Licensed Real Estate Broker.
Ms. Nogues uses her proven marketing and management successes to effectively list, sell, and manage property. As a key factor, she knows that marketing property means leveraging relationships and informing key people who deal with buyers, sellers, & landlords every day that their unique property is unique & available. She markets and communicates to these groups for her clients, as she can give a personal touch to their professional expectations.
Ms. Nogues earned her Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) Degree/Marketing Major from Stephen F Austin State University. She has been an active Texas Licensed Real Estate Agent, since launching her real estate career in Lufkin, Texas in 1993.
Ms. Nogues has been visiting the Bastrop area since 1972. In February 2003, she moved to the Bastrop County to follow her parents’ retirement back the area. By August of 2003, as a passion, Ms. Nogues, entrepreneur, opened a well-loved store in Historic Downtown Bastrop. This store housed Texas Best Wines (Texas wine tastings, bottle & by-the-glass sales) and Iron Bridge Antiques (Antiques, collectibles, gifts, coffees & Blue Bell Ice Cream).
With the support of her many newly established personal and business relationships, in August 2005, Ms. Nogues decided to move 100% back into her real estate vocation. She founded Susan Nogues Real Estate LLC, in Bastrop, where she assists Buyers, Sellers, Landlords and Tenants in their Real Estate needs. Her experience and personality really help when negotiating and facilitating simple, or complex, Commercial/Residential Brokerage, Farm/Ranch, and Property Management transactions.
While in East Texas, Ms. Nogues served as the first Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Angelina County. She also served on the Commission on Missions & the Board of Trustees for the First United Methodist Church, Lufkin.
Currently, she is a REALTOR® with the Bastrop County Board of REALTORS ® (past Director), Texas REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, Austin Board of REALTORS®/Austin Central Texas Multiple Listing Service (MLS), the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, & the Smithville Chamber of Commerce. She has been a member of Bastrop Rotary Club, Cedar Creek Rotary Club, Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team Advisory Committee, and on the Bastrop Episcopal Church Community Mission Committee.
In years past, she has served as a City of Bastrop Planning and Zoning Commissioner, Board of Adjustments member, Children’s Advocacy Center Director, Rotarian, and Cedar Creek Methodist Church Trustee.
September 4th, 2011 marked the beginning of the historic Bastrop County Complex Wildfires that burned over 37,000 wooded acres. Because of the major economic and community impact of losing over 1,700 homes to fire in Bastrop County, Susan Nogues developed a plan to get people a vision to get back onto their properties and into their homes with the creation of the Bastrop County Expo: 'Building a Better Tomorrow.' This Bastrop, Elgin Smithville Chamber of Commerce and Bastrop Economic Development Corporation sponsored event, November 19th, was held at the Bastrop Convention Center, approximately 60 days from its inception. It brought over 57 vendors, various subject matter expert speakers in 15 break-out sessions, and a place where 800+ attending Bastrop County residents also received current updates from their City/County officials, utility companies, and homeowner associations. For this timely contribution to the community, February 2012, Ms. Nogues received a special Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Award for her 'Innovative Contribution' after the September 2011 Complex Wildfires.
October 2011, while simultaneously promoting the Bastrop County Expo, Ms. Nogues attended a meeting for the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Committee. During her first meeting she became nominated and elected Construction Management Chairman and served on the Board of Directors. Ms. Nogues managed finances and construction guidelines, and coordinated the rebuilding, and completion of several homes. She also assisted with a reorganization, and creation of the 501c3 non-profit status, and bringing effective community members into the organization. After 9 months of service, June 2012, Ms. Nogues resigned from the Chair position to return to Real Estate Brokerage full-time. She served in a position on the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team Advisory Team and has served on the Bastrop County Reactivation Committee. The Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team program is Nationally recognized and has been shared with other disaster impacted areas.
She is ready to serve her clients and Central Texas community!
