It was April 1991 when Susan Taite fell in love with Amador and El Dorado Counties. Her family is involved with a church ministry that manages a 160-acre camp located in the Fairplay area. They would drive up as a family from the East Bay every month, rain or shine, and help to maintain the property. Their kids learned skills they would never have been exposed to in the city, and now, they are leading successful and fulfilling adult lives.
They looked for property to purchase close to the camp and they purchased a 10-acre slice of heaven in 1999. Now that they are there full-time, they wonder how they ever survived the rat race of the city! This relaxed foothill area offers you acreage for horses, vineyards, a peaceful surrounding to raise your family, or build your dream home with a climate unrivaled for camping, skiing, farming, or sight-seeing; all within a short drive from “civilization”.
