Trent Houchin is the senior financial analyst for ARA, A Newmark Company’s Student Housing group where he is responsible for the financial analysis of all properties and portfolios including the research of economic drivers, underwriting and performance benchmarking in support of the company’s investment sales services. In this role, Mr. Houchin leverages a unique expertise in development, acquisition and disposition analysis including that of primary, secondary and tertiary markets. He is actively involved throughout the entire disposition process from the production of marketing materials and reports, to assistance through due diligence, and he has worked closely with some of the largest student housing owners in the country. Over the course of the past year, Mr. Houchin was responsible for the comprehensive analysis of over $3 billion of investment grade student housing assets.
Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Mr. Houchin worked as a lead analyst for a development firm based in Austin, Texas where he was responsible for targeting new development and investment opportunities, financial analysis and coordination and submission of materials, plans, and reports as necessary for project entitlement.
Mr. Houchin graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance.
