Walt has been a licensed broker in Michigan and involved in commercial real estate for over 40 years. Prior to founding Tri-State, Walt was the Director of Real Estate for Paragon Restaurant Group (Parent company of Mountain Jack's restaurants), the Midwest Regional Director of Real Estate for Ralston Purina's restaurant group (parent company of Jack-In-the-box), and Regional Real Estate Manager for Shell Oil Company. Walt has been involved in thousands of real estate transaction in his career including development of strip centers, office brokerage and leasing, retail leasing, service station sales and development, and industrial building brokerage and re-development. He has handled 1031 exchanges, auction format transactions, and residential sales and leasing. Walt also was the primary driver of the development of Detroit's Wonder Bread Building into the Motor City Casino. This long and distinguished career makes him one of the foremost real estate experts in the Southeastern Michigan area. In addition to his real estate career, Walt has been very active in the community by volunteering and serving as a board member for several charity organizations such as the Detroit based "I-Care" charity and Bloomfield Hills based "Angels Place". He is also very active as a member and fund raiser for the St. Regis Catholic church community and board member of the Seahorse Beach Resort in Long Boat Key, Florida. Walt enjoys tennis, golf, fishing, and snow skiing in his free time.
