Bill is the General Counsel of a multi-generational family office that owns, manages and operates a large portfolio of commercial office buildings located in New York, New York. In this capacity Bill oversees the legal operation of the family office including acquisitions and dispositions, mortgage and mezzanine financings, partnership and principal investments, office and retail leasing, construction, employment and landlord-tenant issues.
Prior to joining Colliers, Bill was a Partner with the Real Estate Group at McDermott Will & Emery LLP. At McDermott, he represented landlords, tenants, owners, operators, developers, hoteliers and institutional investors in complex commercial real estate transactions including acquisition and sale of real estate assets, mortgage and mezzanine financings, joint venture partnerships, and leasing of office and retail properties.
Prior to McDermott, Bill served as the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at Swig Equities, a real estate development, investment, brokerage, and management firm responsible for the development of more than $3 billion of commercial and residential properties. In this role, he oversaw the entire legal operation of the company including portfolio management, underwriting and legal due diligence with respect to the acquisition, refinancing, leasing activity and day-to-day operation of its commercial and residential portfolio.
Bill started his career as an attorney in the highly acclaimed real estate department of Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
