City Properties was incorporated in the State of Illinois in 1970, and since its inception has pioneered in the re-development of older, mixed use properties, primarily located in the “River North” area of Chicago. Under the direction of Ken Pearl, President of City Properties, these “grand old buildings” that had formerly given employment to many of Chicago’s factory workers, smaller manufacturing companies and retail-type stores, have been transformed into viable, customized individual environments for use as commercial office suites, retailing, gallery space, entertainment and restaurant facilities for the small to mid-sized user. As the corporation progressed in its re-development ventures and slowly increased its portfolio of real estate holdings, Mr. Pearl and City Properties soon had the moniker of “The Original Developer of River North” attached to all its endeavors.
