EQT Exeter is a vertically integrated fund manager, developer, owner, lessor, and property manager whose predecessor was founded in 2006. It found initial success by selling a 209-property portfolio to a joint venture between a Canadian pension manager and a sovereign wealth fund for over $3.1 billion in 2015. The company was acquired by EQT AB, a Swedish investment manager, for $1.9 billion in 2021. The company has a portfolio of over $30 billion in real estate AUM.
The company's portfolio spans 20 countries but is primarily concentrated in the United States and Western and Central Europe. They have developed logistics properties in Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, and Australia amongst others. Industrial properties comprise a majority of the portfolio, but the company also invests in multi-family and office assets, particularly in the US. Many of their recent projects are development opportunities that overcome a high barrier to entry in highly developed markets.
