New York City workers have a new space to relax and refresh at the recently opened Standard Dose store. The retailer, which sells cannabinol (CBD) products, launched a wellness center emporium in the city’s NoMad neighborhood earlier this summer.

Designed as an immersive experience of the wellness trend its products promote, the three-story retail space offers restful retreats for a soothing meditation break or afternoon tea at the store’s bar, serving a CBD-infused detox, immunity, and healing tea.

The Standard Dose Wellness Experience offers daily yoga classes on the rooftop, and afternoon meditation in its zen space, where shoppers can use Standard Dose tinctures to “deepen their practice.” The rooftop space will also host occasional events and educational workshops.

“This space is a physical manifestation of the Standard Dose brand. It’s a calm escape built around guiding and educating consumers on ways to soothe, balance, and alleviate through CBD- and plant-based wellness” says founder Anthony Saniger.

As a recent player on the wellness scene, CBD products may still be mystifying to many consumers. The legal substance is derived from the cannabis plant, and the extract is known to have health benefits without the hallucinogenic properties of THC drugs.

The Standard Dose retail store stands to educate shoppers about the plant’s benefits, with trained staff who can speak to the uses of over 100 curated CBD- and plant-based topical and ingestible products that promote better health, sleep, mood, and skincare.

“We want to encourage an informed and honest dialogue about CBD and bring clarity by elevating the standard in a space that is still widely unregulated and misguided,” explains Saniger.

The first floor of the space also includes a spa room with beauty services and treatments that use Standard Dose’s skin care products—another opportunity for shoppers to sample the brand’s products before buying.

The space also utilizes a therapeutic skylight installation by CoeLux, which the company says “visually reproduces the behavior of the earth’s atmosphere and is proven to support mental restorative processes, reduce stress, heighten a sense of comfort and emotional wellbeing, and enhance cognitive functions.”
